Why is recreational boating a great value?

Recreational boating is a great way to experience adventure, nature, wildlife and meet other like minded people. Whether you have 14 foot runabout, a 60 foot motoryacht or anything in between, a significant portion of this experience remains the same. With terrestrial based forms of recreation such as camping being so popular (really a victim of its own success), the booking experience has become similar to booking a hotel room or air plane ticket. Boating has remained what camping used to be in that you make can easily make your plans with a weather forecast window of a few days. Although marinas and anchorages can get busy sometimes, there is no such thing as a reservation to anchor as well as no cost.
